“Collective Studio” at Boğaziçi University

Istanbul, 2010-(ongoing)

In 2011, I initiated a -still actively growing- Collective Studio at Boğaziçi University to create a collaborative production space for experimental art and design practices, produce together and learn from each other.  The idea of “Collective Studio” focuses on the notation of production as an agency that unites and activates people to engage with their environment and question the way of things.

Over time, the studio has turned into an autonomous area in the public institution that questions its own needs and limits through production-oriented experiences. It became an alternative space for participants to learn the use of basic materials and tools, train each other through experience transfer, and develop relations with their surroundings through production.
