light & ambiance design

It was a great experience to design the ambiance of space through light for the Ethereum Foundation, Co-Working Space at DevConnect Istanbul 2023.
I was invited as an interdisciplinary artist who loves to play with lights to shape the ambiance of the void. Even though Istanbul Congress Center is a great venue, the existing cold white florescent lights (like in many other big venues) do not always answer the needs. Considering the concept of the event, the profile of the participants, the size of the space and the future vision of Ethereum community, made the project so hard but at the same time so gratifying. My decision to cancel all the ceiling lights and instead light the vast space from the ground was very risky for most of the people involved in the project. Even though I had doubts sometimes, I knew what I was doing, and why, based on my past experiences.
Thank you all the craft masters who produced more than 600 lights in 2 weeks.

I always had a dream to make such events conceptually and artistically richer. It is great to see that dream slowly becoming a reality…
