Light-Sound-Shadow Installation

This installation is the output of our participatory action research on the Craft culture of Skopje during a residency at Critical Culture with Lydia Chatziiakovou.
The installation consists of objects and sounds that carry memories of the crafts studios, heritage of the city, as well as the creative potential of crafts in the post-industrial era. It represents the disappearance of crafts, their changing status in society and production throughout the years, their invisibility and flow in the life of contemporary cities.
Thanks to this artist residency program, craft researches go beyond the borders of Turkiye and we start to build creative networks and communities around craft.
Balkans carry a huge potential of crafts which can go deeper and unite the creative communities around contemporary approaches.
